Caring Committee

We accomplish our mission by organizing and hosting Tikkun Olam Together events, where congregants of all ages and abilities work side by side on a community outreach/service project; we host a monthly Soup Kitchen and an annual week of NEST to serve the homeless; we prepare and serve meals at JCOC, a homeless shelter in Va. Beach; we provide weekend food in backpacks for low-income elementary school students. Behind the scenes, we send condolence and get well notes and deliver gifts for congregants' simchas. We support the bereaved by offering assistance of any kind.

Mission Statement

To embody the spirit of tikkun olam, repairing our world,
and to encourage OST congregants to come together in deeds of loving kindness to reflect the core values of our tradition and faith.
