Case Statement

For 167 years, our beloved Ohef Sholom Temple has provided outstanding service to its members and to the community. Today we are the beneficiaries of a beautiful Sanctuary and facility, an outstanding Rabbi, Cantor and music program, caring teachers to educate our youth in the values of Reform Judaism, a dedicated staff, and a variety of programs to serve our vibrant and involved congregation.

Just as our parents and grandparents planned for us, so are we obligated to look to the future and ask, “How do we best sustain what has been given us?”

Our Temple’s excessive dependence on dues income and changing dynamics of our dues paying population to support programming, operational needs and capital requirements compel us to find additional resources and challenge us to call upon each other to consider our personal commitment to the future viability of our Temple.

To provide for the future of Ohef Sholom Temple, our congregation needs an endowment fund of at least $14,000,000.

Every generation is given the opportunity to leave its legacy to serve the present and future generations. This is our challenge to ensure the future of Ohef Sholom Temple.
