Wiggles & Giggles – A monthly program for newborns up to age 4 year olds on Sunday mornings from 11:00 to 12:00 pm.  Children explore their Jewish world through play, stories, music and movement.

Kids & Kiddush – Designed specifically for babies and young children, Kids & Kiddush uses prayer, songs, stories & crafts to introduce young children to services within the warmth of our Temple.  These Shabbat programs, held periodically on Friday nights, also give parents an opportunity to share Temple experiences with each other and meet other families.  Grandparents and siblings are encouraged to come too!

Family Friendly Fridays – An abbreviated Shabbat service specifically designed for families with infants through middle school.  With lively singing led by our OST Youth Choir, an entertaining story, and boundless joy, this 40-minute allows families and their children to worship together comfortable on Shabbat.  Family Friendly Fridays, held monthly at 5:45 pm, are followed by Shabbat dinners where kids under 12 eat for free!

Religious School – Ohef Sholom has the largest Religious School in the area with close to 200 children.  Starting with threes and continuing through Confirmation (10th grade), students are taught at age-appropriate levels about Judaism through a multi-faceted approach including textbooks, Hebrew, music, art and field trips.  The goal of Religious School is to help children to live Jewish lives and to promote a strong sense of Jewish identity.  Religious School is held on Sunday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.

Hebrew School – Ohef Sholom holds Hebrew School for children in third grade through seventh grade.  Our aim is to teach children the universal language of Jewish prayer and to prepare them for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah service and beyond.  Hebrew School is held on Sunday mornings from 8:45 am to 10:00 am.

Family Tikkun Olam Together – Multi-generational Mitzvah Opportunities – A mitzvah is a “good deed.”  Throughout the year the OST Caring Committee sponsors opportunities for families to incorporate this essential Jewish value into their lives by doing good deeds together as a family.  Keep an eye out for these periodic projects. 


PJ Library mails free high-quality Jewish children’s literature and music to families across the continent on a monthly basis starting at six months.  Go to www.PJlibrary.org to sign your child up for these wonderful resources.

New Strelitz RC 

Strelitz Early Childhood Education Center’s inquiry-based approach to Jewish education fosters creativity, promotes academic excellence, nurtures caring communities and inspires lifelong learning. Students also participate in swimming, music, physical education and visits to our library.  We educate children six weeks through four years from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We offer 10-month or 12-month programs, as well as Fullcare and part-time options.
